A Waxwing Convention

During the winter these Bohemian Waxwings (note the rufous undertail) gather in large flocks. In Saskatoon, they are often feasting on the berries of Mountain Ash trees in grand hordes. When this smaller group gathered in my back alley I went to explore, and discovered they weren’t too worried about my presence, even when I stepped right into the tree only a meter from them.
