We spent a few days camping at Cypress Hills Inter-Provincial Park. Except for the forgotten pillows!!! it was a wonderful time. Here are some pictures I took.
Lodgepole convergence This is the furthest east you can find lodgepole pines in Canada. Makes for a stunning campsite.
Sidelight There was so much magical light on many of our hikes.
Bald Butte See the silhouette of Eileen taking pictures?

Textures So many textures!
Accidental selfie Picture 1 of a 2 part set. This is the photo I accidentally took with the camera facing the wrong direction.
What I meant to shoot Picture 2 of a 2 part set. This is the photo I was trying to take.
Meta Photography photography.
Cow parsnip The variety of flora was really quite striking.
Oops Fauna too. I was quite taken by the unusual tail wing pattern, until I realized this was 2 butterflies! Apparently butterflies can even fly in this "position". 😉
Nest Apparently squirrels live in colonies! Check out the pine cone pile in the middle, same colour as the surroundings. See Eileen for scale.
Hiking and this! Good camping rhythm.
Fitting In One thing growing amidst others.
Serendipity Another thing growing amidst others. The berries are a separate plant, but it looked like a Christmas table display just put there by nature.
Mystery Eileen knows the names of lots of the flowers we found. I do not.
Greens I was struck by all the horizontal layers of shades of green.
Betrayal The pebbles are actually quite tiny. Eileen is actual a full sized human. Cameras DO lie.
Ravenscrag Heading south and east from Cypress Hills, this looks like it's out of a western movie set.
Whitemud The white areas are high quality clay used by numerous local potters. We have some pottery made from it. That's it from Cypress Hills. Grasslands follow in a few days.
